Support the Restoration of St. James Creek Preserve

A Legacy of Conservation
For over 25 years, the Calusa Land Trust, Pine Islands all-volunteer land conservancy,
has preserved the natural beauty of our island. Our iconic Plunk-a-Plank fundraiser
once brought our community together by offering a tax-deductible donation in exchange
for personalized names, memorials, or captions on wooden planks. These planks adorned
the boardwalk and benches along the cherished St. Jude Nature Trail in St. James City,
creating a lasting tribute to our supporters.
Rebuilding After the Storms
Hurricanes Ian, Helene and Milton have left significant damage to the boardwalk, benches, and tiki huts at the St. James Creek Preserve, with restoration costs nearing $100,000. To meet this challenge, we are relaunching the Plunk-a-Plank campaign with a modern twist: durable composite material planks will now be displayed along the protected beams of the three tiki huts at the preserve, ensuring longevity and resilience.
How You Can Help
By donating $100, you can sponsor a plank and leave a lasting mark on Pine Islands
natural legacy. Your tax-deductible contribution will directly support the restoration of
the St. James Creek Preserve, ensuring future generations can enjoy its beauty. For
